The fourth mortuary is inaugurated in San Miguel de Salinas.

In this way, Rocamer Seguros came to control just over 11% of this insurance company. This change was the biggest turning point in the company’s history. After transferring its entire portfolio of policyholders to this company, Rocamer had the income from the commission it received from its insurance portfolio and, in turn, owned 11% of the profits generated by the insurance company.

The second mortuary is inaugurated in San Pedro del Pinatar.

On the other hand, it is now the company that is in charge of claims, registrations, cancellations, modifications, etc. In this way, it was able to improve its service and customer care and open an office dedicated to these tasks. This collaboration lasted more than 30 years, during which Rocamer experienced a significant growth in its client portfolio, reaching a portfolio of more than two thousand seven hundred policies.

However, in 1965, Rosendo Mercader Sr. died and Rosendo Mercader Jr. became, for the first time, the head of what was to become Rocamer Seguros. After his father’s death, he gave up the extra work he was doing to devote himself entirely to the marketing of death insurance.

During their first fourteen years as collectors for Ocaso Seguros, Rosendo father and son did a good job, doubling the insurance portfolio they collected in the area thanks to their good reputation in the aforementioned localities and above all thanks to their quality as tireless salesmen.

In 1950, Rosendo Mercader began working for Ocaso Seguros, the company that marketed death insurance in the area at the time and which had a portfolio of around three hundred policies, as a collector in the area from Sucina to San Pedro del Pinatar, together with his eldest son, Rosendo Mercader Torres, who was ten years old at the time.
